Description
We’re looking for a Data Center Engineer to support and optimize the core infrastructure underpinning our high‑frequency trading (HFT) systems. Based in New York, you’ll be responsible for the design, deployment, and ongoing reliability of the firm’s colocation and core data centre environments. The ideal candidate brings the discipline, scale, and automation mindset of a FAANG‑level environment combined with the precision and speed demanded in trading infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Deploy, configure, and support hardware assets — servers, network gear, storage, and structured cabling — across colocation and data centre sites in the US and globally.
- Manage rack layouts, power planning, and structured cabling with meticulous attention to airflow and redundancy.
- Coordinate with global infrastructure teams to roll out low‑latency environments, including trading servers, switches, and FPGA components.
- Oversee hardware lifecycle management, vendor coordination, and inventory systems to ensure operational readiness.
- Implement and maintain monitoring and alerting systems for hardware health, environmental metrics, and connectivity.
- Work closely with network, systems, and trading platform teams to provision new racks, troubleshoot performance issues, and coordinate deployments.
- Utilize infrastructure‑as‑code principles (Ansible, Python scripting) to automate repetitive setup and maintenance tasks.
- Contribute to incident response and post‑mortem analysis, ensuring root‑cause remediation and continuous improvement.
