Description
A leading market-making firm is looking for a Low Latency Data Centre Engineer to join its infrastructure team in Shanghai.
This role will focus on the design, deployment and ongoing support of high-performance data centre infrastructure used by latency-sensitive trading systems. You will combine hands-on rack-and-stack delivery with technical design, connectivity planning and operational support across critical infrastructure environments.
You will work closely with network, systems, trading technology and global infrastructure teams to deliver reliable, resilient and highly optimised platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement low-latency data centre infrastructure in Shanghai and other regional locations.
- Produce rack layouts, connectivity plans, cable schedules, power requirements and technical documentation.
- Plan and execute rack-and-stack installations for servers, switches, trading appliances and specialist hardware.
- Install, test and maintain copper and fibre cabling, patch panels, transceivers and structured connectivity.
- Deploy and support high-performance network infrastructure, including 10/25/40/100GbE and higher-speed environments.
Required Skills
- Data centre design, rack layouts, rack-and-stack and structured cabling.
- Fibre, copper, patch panels, transceivers and optical testing.
- Servers, switches, network appliances and specialist trading hardware.
- Power distribution, rack capacity, redundancy and environmental requirements.
- Network hardware from vendors such as Arista, Cisco, Juniper, Mellanox/NVIDIA or similar.
- Linux server hardware and remote-management technologies such as iLO, iDRAC or IPMI.
