Network Engineer
About the Role
We are looking for a highly skilled Network Engineer with expertise in automation, network design, implementation, and support a global high frequency trading firm. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in building and optimizing networks for low-latency connectivity, leveraging automation tools and techniques to streamline operations. Network Design and Implementation:
- Design and implement high-performance, low-latency network solutions tailored to business requirements.
- Develop scalable network architectures that optimize speed, reliability, and efficiency.
- Configure and deploy routers, switches, firewalls, and other networking equipment to ensure seamless connectivity.
Automation:
- Develop and maintain network automation scripts using tools like Python, Ansible, or Terraform to streamline configuration management and deployment processes.
- Automate monitoring, troubleshooting, and reporting tasks to reduce manual intervention.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles to enhance network scalability and agility
- Provide advanced technical support for network-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
- Monitor network performance using tools like SolarWinds, Nagios, or Prometheus to identify bottlenecks or latency issues proactively.
- Conduct root cause analysis for incidents and implement preventive measures to improve reliability.
Low-Latency Connectivity:
- Optimize networks for low-latency applications such as financial trading platforms, gaming environments, or high-speed data transfer systems.
- Analyze traffic patterns to minimize latency through advanced routing protocols (e.g., BGP optimization).
- Collaborate with vendors to ensure hardware and software solutions meet latency requirements.
Collaboration and Documentation:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams (e.g., DevOps, Security) to ensure seamless integration of networking solutions into broader IT infrastructure.
- Document network designs, configurations, processes, and troubleshooting guides for internal use.
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience in designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise-grade networks with a focus on low-latency connectivity.
- Strong expertise in automation tools such as Python scripting, Ansible, Terraform, or similar technologies.
- Deep understanding of networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, UDP, BGP, OSPF) and technologies (e.g., VxLANs, QoS).
- Hands-on experience with network hardware from vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, Arista Networks, or similar.
- Familiarity with cloud networking (AWS/Google Cloud Platform/Azure) and hybrid environments (Nice to have)
Preferred Skills:
- Certifications such as CCNP/CCIE/JNCIP/JNCIE are highly desirable.
- Understanding of security principles related to networking (e.g., firewalls, VPNs).
