Description
We’re seeking a highly skilled Low Latency Data Center Engineer to design, deploy, and maintain mission-critical infrastructure supporting ultra-low-latency trading systems. You’ll work at the intersection of hardware, networking, and systems engineering to ensure sub-microsecond performance across global colocation sites and primary data centers.
Key Responsibilities
- Rack and stack servers, network switches, storage systems, and other infrastructure equipment in accordance with site standards and capacity plans
- Perform structured cabling including fiber and copper runs, cable dressing, labeling, and cable management in line with best practices
- Install and replace hardware components: servers, switches, optics, transceivers, SFPs, NICs, drives, memory, power supplies, and fans
- Conduct physical infrastructure audits, asset tracking, and inventory management across global sites
- Coordinate equipment deliveries, unpacking, staging, and disposal of decommissioned hardware
Required Skills
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in data center operations, racking and stacking, or hardware deployment roles
- Proven ability to rack, stack, and cable servers, switches, and storage systems in production data center environments
- Strong experience with structured cabling: fiber (LC, MPO, MTP) and copper (Cat6, Cat6a) including cable dressing and management
- Proficiency installing and replacing hardware components: servers, switches, optics, SFPs, NICs, drives, memory, PSUs, and fans
- Experience with hardware diagnostics and troubleshooting failed or degraded equipment
