Key Responsibilities
- Support production trading systems on Linux, investigating incidents and resolving issues under pressure.
- Write and maintain Python scripts to automate operational tasks, build tooling and analyse trading/market data.
- Create and optimise SQL queries against trading, reference and reporting databases.
- Monitor system health, performance and logs; contribute to alerting and dashboards.
- Collaborate with developers on deployments, configuration changes and release support.
Required Skills
- Degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or a related STEM field, or demonstrable self-taught experience.
- Solid Linux/Unix fundamentals: command line, processes, logs, permissions, basic networking.
- Practical Python experience: scripting, automation, working with files/APIs and basic data analysis.
- Comfortable writing SQL: SELECT/JOIN/GROUP BY, filtering, aggregations; exposure to PostgreSQL, MySQL or similar.
