Description
We’re working with a high-performance HFT firm building out and scaling its data center infrastructure in New York City. This is a hands-on role at the intersection of network engineering, data center operations, and low-latency infrastructure, supporting systems where performance, reliability, and precision really matter. HFT environments like this often want engineers who can handle both data center buildout and operational troubleshooting across network and server infrastructure.
If you enjoy working close to the hardware, solving difficult infrastructure problems, and taking ownership in a fast-moving environment, this could be a strong fit.
Key Responsibilities
What you’ll be doing
- Building, scaling, and maintaining data center and colocation infrastructure.
- Supporting network design, deployment, and day-to-day operations across the data center estate.
- Working on Layer 2 and Layer 3 connectivity, routing, switching, and general infrastructure troubleshooting.
- Coordinating with network, server, facilities, trading, and vendor teams to keep environments running smoothly.
Required Skills
What they’re looking for
- Experience working in data center environments.
- Good understanding of networking fundamentals, including Layer 2 and Layer 3 connectivity.
- Linux comfort and scripting experience in Bash or Python is a plus.
- Familiarity with enterprise hardware such as Cisco, Arista, Dell, Ciena, or similar platforms is valuable.
- A self-starter mindset, strong communication skills, and the ability to work well across multiple teams.
